More than 60 competitors braved snow, dust and high winds at Event #2 at the U.S. Truck Driving School in Fountain. Final results are now posted on the website. We had a few growing pains at the last event, including a late start and a some final scoring glitches, so we're taking steps to make sure Event #3 runs like a well-tuned Subaru. Below are important updates to help ensure Event #3 runs on time and we all get maximum laps: PRE-REGISTRATION - Please pre-register on the website so that our Registration and Timing folks are able to prepare tech sheets and timing logs in advance for the race day. This will save significant time on race morning and allow us to start moving dust as early as possible. Pre-registration will close at 7:00 PM on the Thursday evening before the event. If you're thinking about racing, but aren't sure if you'll actually be able to attend, pre-register anyway so that we have your paper work if you show up. No penalty or cost for pre-registering if you're a no-show. ARRIVE EARLY - You can sleep in when you're dead. Plan to be in the paddock by 8:00 AM so that you can hit the registration table, prep your car and get through Tech by 9:00 AM. This will give you 30 minutes to walk the course and get your mojo ready for the 9:30 AM drivers' meeting. A quick parade lap and then we should be ready for the first car out at 10:00 AM. In the immortal words of Ken Cashion, "The earlier we start, the more laps we get." VOLUNTEER! - We can always use more help with key race day functions, especially Tech and Timing. If you're interested, we can train you. Heck, if the Ones Brothers can manage Timing, anyone can do it! Go to the Contacts page and send an email to Jerry Smith if you would like to help with Tech or Carlos Lucero if Timing is your thing. COMBINED CLASSES - Due to low Rear Wheel Drive entries, the following classes will be combined for the 2010 Colorado R-X season: Stock Front and Stock Rear will be combined into Stock 2WD (S2); Prepared Front and Prepared Rear will be merged into Prepared 2WD (P2). NO FOOD TRAILER AT EVENT #3 - The Short Stop food trailer will not be at Deer Trail due to a prior scheduling commitment, so be sure to bring food and drink. If needed, you can make a munchies run back to Deer Trail during the lunch break. Don't worry--Short Stop will be at the remaining season events, so you'll be able to grab a delicious breakfast burrito, mouth-watering cheeseburger, or cold drink at Event #4. CAR COLOR PENALTY - To keep things interesting, all blue Subarus will be assessed a 5-second penalty per run. Of course we're only kidding. Maybe.
